I had a big event coming up and randomly broke out, so I needed a good spot ASAP. Found MeSO, and honestly, it was even better than expected. Came with my friend, and the vibe was super chill and comfy. I was exhausted, so I got an IV drip, and it totally perked me up for the rest of the day. Tried RF Microneedling for the first time too, and my skin felt so smooth and calm afterward—definitely helped my breakout chill out.

I went to Meso Medspa for the Rejuran treatment because my friend got it here and the staff was so helpful throughout the whole process. They first do an evaluation with a high-tech skin scan and it takes photos of your problem areas and the reason your skin is aging. After the informative consultation, they said I am the perfect candidate for the Rejuran treatment and they prepped me with numbing cream. The treatment involves multiple microinjections around the cheek and chin area with an injector device.

Have been noticing my pores more prominently recently, so my wife made an appointment for me using the website. The location is easy to find, they have their logo displayed on the windows so it’s hard to miss. Apparently they recently renovated so inside looks very nice and clean. To be honest, I was expecting to be the only guy there, but there were a handful of other guys getting treatment done too.

The staff was so friendly and helpful. June did a skin analysis before treatment and took her time to explain everything. She was so sweet and lovely to work with. I really appreciated that the aesthetician, S, wanted to be conservative with treatment since it was my first visit. The entire experience was very easy, and I didn't feel pressured to do anything additional. Also their prices were amazing.

I absolutely love this med spa! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by how clean, welcoming, and beautifully decorated the space was — it has such a cute and calming vibe that instantly puts you at ease. Our injector, Jenny, was fantastic. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable and professional, but she’s also refreshingly honest and straightforward. She took the time to really listen to our concerns and thoroughly explain our options without ever making us feel pressured. What I appreciated most was that she didn’t try to upsell or push MeSO Tox if it wasn’t necessary, which speaks volumes about her integrity and genuine care for her clients.

This was one of the best experiences I have had in a Medical Spa. I felt very welcomed because the atmosphere was professional but warm at the same time. I really appreciated Esther and all the girls that helped me from the skin consultation to the treatments themselves! I did one session of RF lifting and HIFU treatments and my skin was glowing afterwards. In addition I was taken to a room in the back where I had a one on one time with a esthetician who applied a collagen mask and explained to me in detail all the ways it was good for my skin.

I went to Me:So Medspa a few weeks ago. I am 71 years old and was curious about some of their treatments for a 'refresh'. Jenny was amazing. She made suggestions for my concerns and I ended up with the Microson HIFU with Oligio X treatment. Everything was explained in detail and Karen was also very professional with her involvement of my procedure. Deep 11's so much better, marionette lines vanishing! The salon has had a total makeover from its former business. Very relaxing atmosphere

I absolutely LOVE it here! The K-Beauty treatments are amazing, and I’m really enjoying the products as well. I had the most thorough and thoughtful consultation with Jasmine—she was honest, classy, and completely professional. Then I received a phenomenal facial from Karen. Her touch was incredibly gentle yet effective. After that, I had laser hair removal with Nurse Jenny, who was not only highly professional but also very informative. Every step of my visit exceeded my expectations!

Visited for my first time for their opening special is only- service was great and they were very responsive on Instagram before my appt! The checkin process & initial skin analysis was smooth and super helpful, they answered all questions about different skincare treatments as well as pricing (they were very transparent). They were honest about what treatments would be helpful and which ones I can hold off on, and overall they were never pushy about what I should get! Super gentle + quick responses from the staff, highly recommend a visit (:

First time coming here and got the BB laser to help with skin resurfacing. Had a great experience with Liz, Esther, and Sara. What is special about this place, which follows Korean laser skincare centers, is the thorough post after care with face mask, cryo and, red light therapy. After my treatment, I got a package to come back !

Recommended (and Not-So-Recommended) Treatments for Women in Their 20s

Recommended (and Not-So-Recommended) Treatments for Women in Their 20s

At MeSO Medspa, we often meet clients in their 20s who ask, “Do I really need skin treatments at my age?” The answer is — it depends on what your skin needs, not your age. Your 20s are the golden years for your skin: full of collagen, elasticity, and a natural glow. But daily stress, sun exposure, late nights, and lifestyle habits can still lead to breakouts, enlarged pores, and early signs of aging. So today, we’re sharing some expert tips from our medical estheticians on which treatments are worth it — and which ones you might want to skip for now. 1️⃣ Understanding 20s Skin During your 20s, your skin is at its healthiest stage — firm, smooth, and radiant. However, UV rays, pollution, stress, and lack of sleep can still cause damage. The key at this age is preserving what you already have , not over-treating or aggressively changing your skin. 2️⃣ Treatments & Habits We Recommend 🧴 Focus on the Basics Daily SPF — Sun damage is the #1 cause of premature aging. Always wear SPF 30–50, even on cloudy days. Hydration — Dryness can lead to dullness and fine lines. Use a lightweight gel moisturizer if you’re oily, or a ceramide-rich cream if you tend to be dry. Gentle Cleansing — Double cleanse if you wear makeup, and opt for a mild, pH-balanced cleanser that won’t strip your skin barrier. 💆‍♀️ Professional Treatments Acne Control: Combine professional extractions with mild chemical exfoliation to reduce congestion. Pore & Texture Improvement: Treatments like Rejuran , Skin Boosters , Laser Toning , or Skin Botox can help refine the skin’s surface. Mild Exfoliation: Monthly light peels or enzyme facials help keep your tone bright and even. Early Anti-Aging Care: Preventive energy-based treatments such as Oligio X (gentle ultrasound lifting) can stimulate collagen before sagging begins. 3️⃣ Treatments to Avoid in Your 20s 🚫 Harsh Home Peels Over-the-counter peels or high-acid products can damage the skin barrier. Trendy products on TikTok or Instagram may not be right for your skin type — always check with a licensed professional first. 🚫 Over-Exfoliating Scrubbing too often can irritate the skin and cause breakouts. Limit physical exfoliation to once or twice a week, and instead, consider a monthly professional facial at a medspa for deeper but safer exfoliation. 🚫 Unnecessary Aggressive Procedures If your skin is already healthy, strong lasers or deep resurfacing aren’t needed. These can make the skin overly sensitive and reactive at a young age. 4️⃣ Everyday Habits That Make a Difference Hands Off Your Face: Your hands carry bacteria that can trigger acne. Clean Pillowcases: Wash them weekly to prevent breakouts. Brush & Sponge Hygiene: Clean your makeup tools regularly. Antioxidants Matter: Add Vitamin C or E serums to fight free radicals and boost glow. Never Skip Sunscreen: Reapply after swimming, sweating, or exercising — every single time. 5️⃣ Final Thoughts Your 20s are the foundation for how your skin will look in the decades ahead. When you care for it properly now — with gentle, consistent habits and occasional professional care — you’ll thank yourself later for that effortless glow. ✨ At MeSO Medspa, we believe healthy skin is beautiful skin — and that starts with understanding what your skin truly needs, not what’s trending. Dry, Red, and Sensitive Skin During Winter — Why It Happens and How to Fix It!

Dry, Red, and Sensitive Skin During Winter — Why It Happens and How to Fix It!

Dry, Red, and Sensitive Skin During Winter — Why It Happens and How to Fix It! Hi there, this is MeSO Medspa. Lately, more clients have been visiting us because their skin suddenly feels red, tight, and itchy. Many say, “My face feels irritated, burns, and gets flaky — but I haven’t changed my skincare or products!” If your skin used to feel fine but suddenly became sensitive for no reason, you’re not alone. Today, let’s take a closer look at why this happens and how you can calm and protect your skin during the colder months. How Winter Air and Indoor Heating Affect Your Skin Winter brings two main changes to your daily environment: Indoor heating dries out the air, and Cold weather makes us avoid opening windows, so dust and allergens build up indoors. This dry, dusty air stresses the skin and can even accelerate aging. Engebretsen KA, Johansen JD, Kezic S, Linneberg A, Thyssen JP. The effect of environmental humidity and temperature on skin barrier function and dermatitis. J Eur Acad Dermatol Venereol. 2016 Feb;30(2):223–49. [Humidity] When humidity is low, your skin barrier weakens, making you more prone to irritation and conditions like contact dermatitis. Studies show that skin exposed to 30% humidity is far more vulnerable to external stress than skin in a 90% humid environment. Six hours in a humidity below 10% can severely dehydrate the skin, while a sudden drop in humidity can cause water loss and reduce elasticity. [Temperature] Research also shows a strong link between temperature and skin hydration (TEWL: transepidermal water loss). In low-humidity conditions, the higher the temperature, the more moisture your skin loses. This means that in winter, your heated indoor air can actually be harsher on your skin than the cold air outside. As a result, many modern skin issues during winter stem from indoor environments , not just outdoor weather. When the air is warm but dry, your skin loses moisture more easily. If your barrier is already compromised, this can lead to enlarged pores, rough texture, fine lines, or that frustrating “oily outside but dry inside” feeling. Sensitive skin types may experience redness, flaking, or even peeling. Everyday Habits That Can Worsen Winter Skin Even if you’re following the same skincare routine as before, your skin itself may have become weaker, making it more reactive to things that once felt fine. Think of it this way — water doesn’t sting normal skin, but it burns when it touches a cut. Similarly, your usual skincare might suddenly feel irritating on sensitized skin. Cleansers are another common culprit. Those with oily or acne-prone skin often notice this change more dramatically. During summer, you might have used strong foaming cleansers to control oil, but in winter, that level of cleansing can strip your barrier. Because heating makes the air dry while your oil glands stay active, your skin ends up both oily and dehydrated. In response, you might over-cleanse — which only worsens the sensitivity. What worked well in summer may be too harsh for winter skin. How to Fix It [1] Improve Your Environment Use a humidifier! Keeping indoor humidity around 30–40% can significantly reduce dryness and irritation. For overall health, 40–60% humidity is ideal. Since high indoor temperatures speed up moisture loss, a humidifier is one of the best winter skincare tools. [2] Adjust Your Daily Habits — Hydration & Exercise People who drink 1–3 liters of water a day have noticeably higher skin hydration levels than those who drink less than a liter. Regular exercise also helps circulation and moisture retention. So stay active, drink enough water, and take a moment to check if your usual products or active ingredients (like acne treatments or exfoliating serums) might be too strong for your now-sensitive winter skin. [3] Choose the Right Products — Moisturizer & Cleanser Start by identifying your true skin type. If your T-zone gets oily but your skin still feels tight, you likely have dehydrated oily skin , not dry skin. Look for moisturizers that balance oil and water — ideally containing D-Panthenol or Ceramides . Using a serum or emulsion with Glycerin or Ceramide before your moisturizer can also boost hydration. If your barrier is already damaged, choose formulas with EGF, Panthenol, and Ceramides to help rebuild it. Since barrier recovery takes about two weeks, stick to one reliable product rather than experimenting with several new ones. Focus on gentle consistency instead of variety. The U-zone and O-zone (cheeks and jawline) tend to dry out faster, so apply an extra layer of cream there. When it comes to cleansing: Dry skin types should use mild, low-pH creamy cleansers. Oily or combination skin can benefit from a gel-type cleanser that’s hydrating yet light. If you wear only sunscreen, cleanse first with an emulsion-type cleanser , then follow up with a hydrating gel cleanser . If you wear makeup, start with a cleansing oil or lotion to dissolve it completely, then finish with a gentle water-based cleanser to remove residue. [4] Medspa Treatments That Help If your skin feels severely dry or irritated, professional treatments can help restore hydration faster. Skin Boosters These injections are one of the most effective ways to tackle inner dryness. They deeply hydrate your skin with hyaluronic acid, improving elasticity and calming redness while keeping moisture locked in for weeks. Radiofrequency (RF) Lifting Treatments (e.g. OligioX) Monopolar RF treatments not only improve firmness and fine lines but also enhance your skin’s natural hyaluronic acid production. Regular sessions can help your skin stay strong and supple despite harsh winter conditions. Of course, it’s best to combine these with proper skincare suited to your skin type rather than relying solely on procedures. So today, we’ve talked about why your skin tends to get red, dry, and sensitive in winter — and what you can do about it. These might seem like small lifestyle tips, but they make a big difference when applied consistently. Some people try to fix their skin at home and accidentally make things worse, while others visit a medspa but feel pressured into unnecessary treatments. At MeSO, we believe in understanding your skin first, then choosing what truly benefits it. We hope this guide helps you understand your skin better and find your own best way to care for it this season. Stay hydrated, stay glowing — and let your skin shine through this winter. ☃❄ About Us Me:SO Medspa Opening Hours: Monday — Friday : 10:00 AM — 7:00 PM Saturday : 10:00 AM — 7:00 PM Sunday : Closed Address: 20321 SW Acacia St, Suite 150, Newport Beach, OC, CA 92660, USA 5585 E. [Cosmetic Ingredients] Top 5 Plant-Based Ingredients That Don’t Really Work

[Cosmetic Ingredients] Top 5 Plant-Based Ingredients That Don’t Really Work

Hello, this is MeSO. Our skin comes into contact with countless ingredients every day — and many of them are chosen with emotion rather than science. We often think, “It’s natural, so it must be good,” or “It’s plant-based, so it’s gentle.” But at MeSO , we take a slightly different perspective. Not all natural ingredients are effective, and some are included only in trace amounts — just enough to make a product sound appealing. Today, let’s uncover the truth about the Top 5 plant-based ingredients that look pretty but do little for your skin. Remember, true slow-aging begins with thoughtful, evidence-based choices — not emotional marketing. ❌ 1. Rose Extract “Lovely scent, minimal skin benefits.” Roses symbolize beauty and elegance, so it’s no surprise that “rose extract” often gives skincare a luxurious image. But when it comes to proven results, there’s little to no human data confirming any antioxidant or soothing effects. Most of the time, it’s added for its fragrance and emotional appeal. The actual amount in most formulations is less than 1% , far too little to make a visible difference to your skin. In short — it smells divine but does almost nothing for your complexion. At MeSO , we value science-backed ingredients over sensory illusion. ❌ 2. Yuzu Extract “Vitamin C? It’s mostly gone.” 🍋 Yuzu is often marketed as a “vitamin C powerhouse,” leading many to assume its extract brightens the skin. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. Vitamin C is extremely unstable — it breaks down easily with heat and oxidation during extraction. What remains in most skincare formulas is simply yuzu fragrance and emotional value. To make matters worse, yuzu contains photosensitive compounds that can irritate the skin when exposed to UV light. So while the citrus scent feels refreshing, the benefits are nearly nonexistent. For real brightening, opt for stabilized vitamin C derivatives or clinically proven antioxidants instead. ❌ 3. Rice Extract “An ancient beauty ritual, but not so effective today.” You’ve probably heard that royal courtesans in ancient Korea washed their faces with rice water for glowing skin. That’s where rice extract gained its image as a whitening or brightening agent. But scientifically speaking, rice extract has never been approved as a functional brightening ingredient. While rice contains amino acids, minerals, and vitamins that can be beneficial, the extract concentrations used in cosmetics are so low that visible improvement is unlikely. In other words, rice extract survives mainly on nostalgia — not modern skin science. True beauty comes not from tradition alone, but from understanding what your skin truly needs today. ❌ 4. Propolis Extract “Natural power? More like unstable and inconsistent.” 🐝 Propolis — the resinous material made by bees — is often praised for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. It sounds like the ultimate healing ingredient. However, the quality of propolis extract in skincare products varies widely because the extraction process isn’t standardized. That means the concentration of active compounds — and their actual effects — can differ from one product to another. Propolis may also trigger allergic reactions , especially for sensitive skin. At MeSO , we believe that natural should never mean uncertain. We prioritize ingredients that are proven safe, stable, and compatible with real skin. ❌ 5. Tea Tree Extract (※ Not Oil) “Same name, very different results.” 🌿 Tea tree is famous for its acne-fighting properties — but here’s the catch: only tea tree oil , not the extract , has clinically proven antibacterial effects. If you see “Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract” on the label, that means it’s just water-based tea tree extract, not the essential oil. The extract form contains negligible levels of active compounds , far too low to deliver real acne benefits. Brands often use the term “tea tree” as a marketing cue, even when the ingredient itself has little efficacy. For genuine acne control, look for formulations that clearly state tea tree oil concentration, or use proven actives like salicylic acid or azelaic acid instead. Science Over Sentiment — The Balance of True Beauty Today’s beauty market is overflowing with “plant-based,” “vegan,” and “clean beauty” labels. These sound wonderful, but sometimes they rely more on emotional appeal than science. At MeSO , we believe that true slow-aging doesn’t come from trendy ingredients — it comes from balance, consistency, and scientific integrity. When choosing skincare, ask yourself: ✔ What is the actual ingredient? ✔ At what concentration is it included? ✔ Is its efficacy backed by research? Natural can be beautiful, but scientifically supported natural is powerful. At MeSO , we continue to share insights that help you make smarter, safer, and more confident choices for your skin — because slow, steady beauty always lasts longer.
